As I am writing this, my hair is scraped back into a neat ballerina bun, my face bare all but for the swipe of bright pink lipstick which adorns my lips. Very Carrie Bradshaw-esque you might think but in fact I have been revisiting Jil Sander's spring 2011 RTW show... slightly incongruous for a self-proclaimed colour-neophyte. I really can't fault this show - the striking colour palette coupled with Raf Simons' signature tailoring culminates in a collection which readily translates into everyday wear despite the couture-like craftsmanship. I can't wait to see what he produces this Milan Fashion Week.

despite the fact that i almost never wear color, i had a dream a couple of nights ago where i basically wore that exact white shirt/pink skirt combo. raf creates such beautiful, breathtaking clothes
ReplyDeleteVisually this show is very intense. I like it. Love the graphic effect of the primal colors.
ReplyDeleteIt's a quite striking collection.=) And a wonderful example that wearing less does not mean being dull.
ReplyDeletethe Jil Sander s/s RTW show is so inspiring. that shade of shocking pink and those coral hues especially. even though my wardrobe is not super colorful, i think my favorite color is a poppy red- i got myself the perfect YSL lipgloss a few weeks ago, and i've been slowly getting myself into the habit of dabbing some on before leaving the house. i'm also on the hunt for a little poppy red leather bag. it seems to be the missing piece of my handbag collection!
ReplyDeletedo you have a favorite color?
if raf does something like what he did for the menswear collection, i'm sure the fw 11 show will be a standout this season
ReplyDeleteI love the collection.I don't think I will choose to dress so colorful this summer (pink, orange, navy in one),but still great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI found this collection truly inspiring!
