Off-duty hair

When it comes to matters of beauty you just can't go wrong with a fresh face and an effortlessly tousled mop. Take Clémence Poésy for example (who is giving me serious hair envy in the above image) - what could be better than that winning combination of minimal make-up and those messy, lived-in locks? As with most "effortless" looks, off duty hair is notoriously hard to achieve! On the rare occasions I actually wear my hair down, I get frustrated with the limpness and lifelessness that super silky, freshly washed hair can have. Not so with my latest discovery - the winning combination of Bumble and Bumble Texture hair(un)dressing creme and Klorane's gentle oatmilk dry shampoo. I start with a small amount of the (un)dressing creme on damp hair, let it sit for a minute and then ruffle it up. After air drying, I spritz a bit of dry shampoo to create a drier texture. The combination gives elusive second day hair in no time at all, creating an easy, off duty look with just the right amount of imperfection. Great for those, like me, who want to achieve effortless looking hair with, well, very little effort!

Bumble and Bumble is available to purchase here.

  1. My tip is not to brush your hair - I've been testing it lately and a finger comb suffices even for work. It really keeps body in your hair. Why buy artificial tangles when you can have real ones?

  2. Not brushing your hair is good - sleeping with it down and then running a hand through it is the best way to get that look, as Kate said. ANother tip is to do as the olsens do - leave your house with wet hair. Outside air drying is one way to really good messy locks.. and they last too! Clemence Poesy has always always given me hair envy, because her hair is so blonde and shiny!! I've always wanted blonde hair.. remember when she dyed it brown?? I almost lost it. Clemence, you were born to be blonde! xxx

  3. I've only heard good things about Bumble & Bumble products. I used to have sleek hair but when I gave in to my laziness (there, I've said it!) and just let my wavy hair tumbled loosely, I started getting tons of compliments. So here I was wasting half an hour doing my hair and friends complained I looked stark. These days, I'm lucky to spend a minute and I get asked how my hairdresser is. Still shaking my head in disbelief.

  4. My hair is very fine and stick straight, so I may have to give some of these tips a try. I have such a major girl crush on Clemence!

  5. Yes! I like this off duty hair! I'm also a huge fan of the large not too perfect bun.

  6. My hair is dead straight (a perm only lasts for a couple months) so I don't brush it with a comb- instead I just run my hand through it and tousle it around for more volume. I also get it cut with very blunt ends to achieve more volume.
